Political foresighted leading and green transition
摘要
The integration of the Communist Party of China leadership into enterprise governance is a crucial sustainable‑development strategy, playing an irreplaceable role in the green transition of high-polluting enterprises. In this study, we investigate the causal effect of political foresighted leading (PFL) on green transition and its potential channels. The empirical results show that such leading significantly drives enterprises’ green transition. We also find that improving green‑governance efficiency, internal-control capability and green‑resource investment are the main channels. Further analysis documents that PFL is particularly effective in collaboration with media attention and green production, highlighting a collective effort to promote green transition. Our paper provides theoretical validation for the pivotal role of PFL in promoting green transition and underscores its importance in enterprise development beyond the mere presence of Party leadership.

中国共产党领导融入企业治理是一项关键的可持续发展战略，在高污染企业绿色转型中发挥着不可替代的作用。本研究考察政治前瞻性引领（PFL）对绿色转型的因果效应及其潜在渠道。实证结果表明，这种引领显著驱动企业绿色转型。我们还发现，提升绿色治理效率、内部控制能力和绿色资源投入是主要渠道。进一步分析表明，PFL与媒体关注和绿色生产协同尤为有效，凸显了促进绿色转型的集体努力。本文为PFL在促进绿色转型中的关键作用提供了理论验证，并强调了其在企业发展中的重要性，超越了仅仅存在党组织领导的意义。
