Sustainability for a greener economy
摘要
We introduce a sustainability constraint into a two-sector production economy with green and brown capital, requiring the welfare measure to be non-decreasing over time. The constraint binds only when the brown capital share is high. When it binds, the planner reduces current consumption and reallocates resources toward investment, especially green investment. The constraint also lowers the risk-free rate and raises the risk premium and Tobin’s q .
