The Impact of agricultural FDI firm agglomeration on agricultural economic resilience in China
摘要
Based on China’s city-level panel data from 2005 to 2023, this paper empirically investigates the nonlinear impact of agricultural FDI firm agglomeration on agricultural economic resilience using quadratic regression and a two-line test on both sides of the turning point. The results reveal a significant inverted U-shaped relationship between agricultural FDI firm agglomeration and agricultural economic resilience, which is more prominent in major grain-consuming regions. The conclusion remains robust after addressing endogeneity, spatial effects, and multiple robustness checks. Mechanism analysis indicates that technological upgrading and optimized resource allocation efficiency are the main transmission channels. At present, China’s agricultural FDI firm agglomeration is still on the left side of the inverted U-curve, and appropriately raising the agglomeration level can further strengthen agricultural economic resilience. The findings provide important empirical support for optimizing the spatial layout of foreign investment, and enhancing agricultural economic resilience.
